In 2023, seven scientists from the DZL are among the most cited researchers worldwide according to Clarivate Analytics. The company annually compiles a list of "Highly Cited Researchers." The current ranking includes 7,125 researchers from approximately 70 countries and regions. In terms of countries, Germany ranks fourth in 2023 with 336 "Highly Cited Researchers," behind the USA, China, and the United Kingdom.
Clarivate determines annually how often scientific publications from the last ten years have been cited. Publications are considered highly cited if they belong to the top one percent of most cited publications in their field in the year of publication.
