WHO Guidelines Published For COVID-19 Imaging Techniques

News 17-2020-E EN

With the participation of Prof. Dr. Hans-Ulrich Kauczor, DZL board member, the World Health Organization (WHO) has published advisory guidelines for the application of imaging techniques in COVID-19, the lung disease caused by the coronavirus.

The Rapid advice guide on use of chest imaging in COVID-19 provides recommendations for the use of radiography, computed tomography, and ultrasound in suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19. From asymptomatic cases to patients requiring ICU admission, the guide-lines take different degrees of disease severity into account and discuss the benefits and harms of the relevant technique.
