Call for Applications: DZL Academy Mentoring Program 2026/27

The DZL Academy is pleased to announce the next round of its Mentoring Program – an exciting opportunity for early-career scientists across the DZL network to receive structured support in their professional and personal development.

🔍 About the Program

The DZL Academy Mentoring Program is designed to foster the growth of young researchers in the field of lung research. It aims to strengthen scientific careers through targeted guidance, networking, and individual support from experienced mentors within or outside the DZL.

👥 Who Can Apply

The program is open to early-career researchers affiliated with the DZL, including:

Doctoral students (advanced stages of PhD)
Postdoctoral researchers
Clinician scientists
Junior group leaders

One-on-one mentoring: Tailored support from senior researchers aligned with your career goals
Workshops & seminars: Topics include career planning, leadership, time management, and science communication
Networking opportunities: Connect with peers and mentors across DZL sites
Mentee-mentor matching support: Help in identifying suitable mentors

📆 Program Duration

The program runs for approximately one year, including regular mentor-mentee meetings and centralized events hosted by the DZL Academy.

📝 How to Apply

Please submit the following documents in English:

A brief motivation letter (max. 1 page) outlining your goals and expectations
A short CV (max. 2 pages)
(Optional) Suggestions for a preferred mentor, if already known
