News 2026-432 EN

To mark the 15th anniversary of the German Centers for Health Research (DZG), the DZG and Helmholtz Health will jointly present the program “Future of Medicine: From Discovery to Impact” at the Falling Walls Science Summit in Berlin on November 8, 2026. The program will explore how collaborative research can help translate scientific discoveries into tangible improvements in healthcare more quickly.

The German Centers for Health Research were established 15 years ago to strengthen collaboration between basic research and patient-oriented research and accelerate the translation of scientific findings into clinical practice. The close partnership between the DZG and Helmholtz Health dates back to the beginning and provides an important foundation for joint research into the health challenges of tomorrow.

Through their joint participation in the Falling Walls Science Summit, the DZG and Helmholtz Health are highlighting this collaboration and helping shape the future of medicine.

From Discovery to Application

Under the title “Future of Medicine: From Discovery to Impact,” the joint program will explore how interdisciplinary research and collaboration across institutions can accelerate the path from scientific discoveries to tangible improvements in healthcare.

The program will take place in Berlin on November 8, 2026, and will feature two events:

Both events will provide opportunities to exchange perspectives on current developments in medical research and discuss the importance of collaborative research approaches in translating scientific discoveries into practical applications.

Connecting with the Next Generation of Researchers

Early Career Scientists from the DZG community will be a particular focus. Early-career researchers attending Falling Walls 2026 as speakers or participants are invited to connect with the DZG and Helmholtz Health and exchange ideas with researchers from across the network.
