Influence of an endotracheal tube with subglottic suction and continuous cuff pressure measurement on the respiratory microbiome in mechanically ventilated patients (TUBOMIC-Trial)

In this exploratory, prospective, randomized clinical study, pathogen diagnostics using next-generation sequencing will be conducted on secretions, stool, and plasma samples from 50 visceral surgery intensive care patients with acute respiratory failure requiring airway management in the intensive care unit. Additionally, various inflammatory biomarkers will be measured in the plasma samples.
