A phase IIB, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Astegolimab in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (Aliento)

The primary objective of this study is to evalu-ate the efficacy of astegolimab compared with placebo in patients with COPD judged by the annualized rate of moderate and severe COPD exacerbations during the 52-week treatment period. In addition, the change of health-related quality of life during the treatment period, the safety of astegolimab compared with placebo and the immune response to astegolimab are tested.
