A randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind, multi-center, phase III trial to assess the efficacy and safety of trimodulin (BT588) in adult hospitalized subjects with severe community-acquired pneumonia (sCAP). Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) that is of sufficient severity to require admission to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is associated with substantial mortality. All patients with severe pneumonia who are treated in an ICU will receive therapy.
