Hans-Ulrich Kauczor, Executive Board Member of the German Center for Lung Research (DZL) and Director of the DZL site <a href=\"https:\/\/dzl.de\/en\/sites\/translational-lung-research-center-heidelberg-tlrc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Translational Lung Research Center Heidelberg (TLRC)<\/a>, has been appointed as an international expert to the National Cancer Screening Committee of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">In this role, Prof. Kauczor will contribute his extensive expertise in lung cancer and radiological diagnostics to support the committee's work. He will serve as an international expert during the committee's second term from 2026 to 2030.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">For many years, Prof. Kauczor has been actively involved in advancing lung cancer screening at both the national and international levels. Within the European SOLACE consortium, he led one of the work packages dedicated to optimizing lung cancer screening. He also played a key role in developing medical guidelines and position papers that supported the implementation of Germany's national lung cancer screening programme for individuals at high risk, which was launched earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">This appointment reflects the international recognition of Prof. Kauczor's scientific expertise and his longstanding commitment to improving the early detection of lung cancer.
