The two-hour event was broadcast live from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. via the streamed-up.com platform and has since been available as an on-demand recording under the link “ABCDE of ILD – STREAMED UP”.

The symposium opened with the presentation “ABCDE of ILD – From acute presentation to disease course prognosis” by DZL scientist Prof. Dr Andreas Günther (Giessen). As Head of the ZISL, he presented a structured approach to assessing disease presentation and progression. Prof. Alexander Pöllinger (Bern) then discussed the role of AI-supported image analysis in improving diagnostic precision in his presentation “Artificial intelligence in ILD – From image analysis to clinical decision support”.

Under the title “Treatment of ILD – Evidence-based strategies and individual decision-making”, Dr Silke Tello (Giessen) focused on current pharmacological treatment options, balancing guideline-based evidence with personalised therapeutic decisions. The symposium concluded with a presentation by PD Dr Ekaterina Krauss (Giessen) entitled “Acute care of patients with ILD in the emergency department – Differential diagnosis and pathways to stabilisation”. She highlighted strategies for identifying reversible causes of acute deterioration and for early stabilisation of patients with ILD. The scientific leadership of the event was provided by Prof. Günther and PD Dr Krauss.

Interdisciplinary audience reached

The live broadcast generated considerable interest, with 1,155 visits to the event page. The composition of the audience highlighted the interdisciplinary nature of the format: General medicine and practical internal medicine represented the largest group of participants (28.8%), followed by pulmonology (16.5%) and cardiology (9.4%).

Office-based physicians (45.3%) and hospital-based physicians (42.7%) were represented in almost equal proportions. A further 10.5% of participants came from other professional fields.

The symposium recording will remain available as an on-demand offering for another two years. Based on experience from comparable events, a total reach of around 3,000 viewers is expected over the entire availability period.

The German Center for Lung Research (DZL) and Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma GmbH & Co. KG provided financial support for the symposium. The content was designed to be product- and service-neutral; the scientific organisers and speakers disclosed potential conflicts of interest to the participants.

Source: Center for Interstitial and Rare Lung Diseases (ZISL), Justus Liebig University Giessen

The ZISL online symposium “ABCDE of ILD” highlighted current approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of interstitial lung diseases and brought together experts from various medical fields.

[28
264,325
post-58559","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-diffuse-parenchymal-lung-disease-dpld","tag-veranstaltungen-en
["GET
