Conference president PD Dr. Karoline Gaede, DZL scientist from the Research Center Borstel (ARCN site), welcomed about 200 participants in Berlin.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The motto of this year\u2019s symposium, organized by the TMF, was \u201cNetworking biobanks: Moving Forward Together\u201d. With this in mind, the focus was on \u201cBiobanks in Networks\u201d and in particular on the German Centers for Health Research (DZG) and the German Biobank Alliance. Their development has significantly advanced medical research in recent years. Conference President Karoline Gaede emphasized that \u201cnetworking biobanks have become indispensable pillars for the development of new therapies and drugs\u201d.
