Dr. Ann-Kathrin Daum receives the Takeda Oncology Research Award 2023

We congratulate DZL junior researcher Dr. Ann-Kathrin Daum (German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) Heidelberg) on receiving the 2nd Prize of the Takeda Oncology Award 2023 for her DZL-funded work on therapy resistance in ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer. Her research findings demonstrated that fibroblasts in the tumor microenvironment boost the lipid metabolism of cancer cells, contributing to the development of therapy resistance. The research outcome serves as the basis for further studies that could contribute to the development of new treatment strategies.
